Why are WWE considering releasing Layla if she doesn't sharpen up on her wrestling skills?

Kelly Kelly and Maria aren't great, well Kelly Kelly's kinda averagish since she is athletic in the ring, but Maria's kinda terrible, she has no holds, just slaps and irish whips and clotheslines. In fact I think Layla has a lot more potential than Maria in wrestling. The Bella twins, Candice Michelle and Eve Torres aren't much of a cop either when it comes to wrestling. So why threaten to release Layla unless she doesn't improve on her wrestling skills, and she's eye candy which means that like all of the other attractive divas like Kelly Kelly and Maria, that can keep her in WWE, so why are they threatening Layla?
